1. New additions
When you open Photogallery by the main (entrance) address,
You automatically get on the page of new additions where the photos added per last
2 weeks are situated. Added during last day photos are distinguished by yellow colour (in
the viewing regime 'with icons'). After termination of 2 weeks from the day of addition a
photo will get into main array. Only 20 photos could be seen on the page at a time; if by
your request there are more 20 photos you can go to another pages by menu at the bottom of
links to photos: [1-20] [21-40], etc.
The photos in Photogallery including photos in new additions are sorted by newxt criteria:
1) by directions (Transsib - the classical route [TRS] - are always the
first one).
2) inside direction - by kilometrage of an object.
So you see photos not alphabetically of names but by increase of kilometrage: from Moscow
to Vladivostok in the case of classical Transsib way, from Moscow to Omsk in the case of
historical way, from Taishet to Komsomolsk in case of BAM, etc.
2. Unified search form and keywords
At the bottom of each page of Photogallery unified search form
(further - USF) is situated. It was made for quick access to forming of any free request
made by you.
What criteria you may set? The next 1) category; 2) federation subject of RF (territory,
region, republic) or country (Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China, Korea); 3) year of photography
(the sign 'x' is meant any number) - for example 198x are the years from 1980 to 1989); 4)
direction - some railway of Transsib way; 5) railway line (modern or historical one); 6)
author; 7) keyword (free).
If you want to limit search area, you may choose some criteria by falling menus;
for example - in the field "Direction" to choose "Circum-Baikal
railway" and all other photos which are not from this direction will be eliminated.
If you want to see all photos made in the 80th of the 20th century choose in the field
"Date" 198x. And you can set some criteria at the same time - for example to see
photos of steam locomotives made in the 20th on Chinese Eastern line - and the system will
execute your request. Only don't forget to confirm your choice by press of the button
'Search'.
If you want to see all photos of Photogallery you are to keep in fields general
signs 'Any'; author field and keyword must be empty.
If you want to see the photos of one category (for example 'Steam locomotives') you
are to choose in the field 'Category' necessary category, and in another field to keep
general signs 'Any'; author field and keyword must be empty.
Also you may find photos by key words. For example if you want to find Mogocha
station amid any categories of Photogallery, please enter in the field 'Keyword' Mogocha
and the system will find all photos from this geographical place avaiable in Photogallery.
Some examples of other requests: 'P36', 'Khorvat', 'Losinoostrovskaya', 'platform', etc.
Keyword may be free and if there is such word in the commentary to any photo the
corresponding photo will be shown without fail.
3. Regions of RF and countries, geographical area
Any photo (except portraits) always is connected with some subject of RF
or the country where this photo was made. Survey to geography is realized by modern
administrative division (so photos of Taishet station of any time for example in 1899 or
in 2001 will be belong to Irkutsk region and photos of Harbin made in Chinese Eastern line
time will be belong to China).
Regions of RF are given only for regions where any directions from i.5 is situated

6. Chronology and dating of photos
Photos are dated (if it's possible) by exact date of photgraphy. But
it's clearly that often it's impossible. So the date of a photo can be in 3 variants:
1) exact, date.month.year - 22.11.1998
2) to an approximation of month, month.year - 11.1998
3) to an approximation of year, year - 1998
Exact dates are printed by black colour. Approximate dates are marked by brown colour. Dates set conditionally are marked by red colour.
7. Categories of photos
There are the next categories of photos in Photogallery:
1) Stations and station buildings (platforms, halts and interiors are
here also)
2) Stages (in inhabited localities and beyond them; but not in stations
limits)
3) Bridges and pipes
4) Tunnels and galleries
5) Structures (water-towers, depots, steam water post, switches,
colour-light signals, etc.)
6) Monuments (including musts and memorable boards)
7) Memorial locomotives (including boards at them)
8) Steam locomotives
9) Diesel locomotives
10) Electric locomotives
11) Electric trains
12) Trains and carriages (including theirs interiors)
13) Service equipment (motrisas, railcars, railway technics, etc.)
14) Derailments and disasters (including screenshots from filmings)
15) Railway life (all that wasn't included in another sections, for
example group photos, etc.)
8. Statistics of photos and authors
Statistics page is renewed
dynamically together with entry and editing of photos and it's not only concolidated
information about regions, directions, authors and years of
photography but also a handy search form because everyone are links. In round brackets ()
you may see the number of photos for this object.
For example if you click on 'Vladimir region' (region), you may see all photos of this
region; if you click on the author "Mikhail Bronnikov" - you may see all his
photos, etc.
Additionally there is information about distribution of photos by months of photographs
and by months of publication. |
