| History: It was founded in 1716 as frontier fortress for protection from nomad raids and as strong point for further development of Siberia by Russians. In the 1760th years on the right bank of Om and Irtysh new fortress became administrative centre of all Siberian frontier lines was built. Incorporated from 1782, okrug centre of Tobol vicegerency (before) and Tobol province (1804-22, 1839-68), the centre of Omsk (1822-39) and Akmolino regions (1868-1918), administrative centre of Siberian line Cossack troops (1808-1917), of West Siberian (1824-82) and Steppe (1882-1917) general-provinces. From the end of the 18 c. a pier at Irtysh. In 1894-95 railway from Chelyabinsk passed, railway bridge over Irtysh was built. In 1913 railway from Tyumen was built. Main railway workshops and other factory-plant establishments began to work, branches of Russian and foreign banks created. In 1941 during Great Patriotic War war plants were evacuated into Omsk that in addition served for development of industry. |

| History: Kemerovo sprang up on the place of old Russian settlements close to strong point for mastering of these lands Verkhnetomskiy ostrog (it was founded in 1657, now it's Vekhnetomskoe settlement). In 1859 on the place of modern Kemerovo 7 population areas were: Shcheglovo settlement (Ust'-Iskitimskoe), Kemerovo (known from 1734), Yevseevo, Krasny Yar, Kur-Iskitim (Pleshki), Davydovo (Ishanovo), Borovaya villages. Kemerovo village received its name by originals Kemerovs originals and gave a name to arised at it Kemerovo mine. In 1907 first coal mines were built (in Kuznetsk basin coal was founded in 1721). Development of Shcheglovo settlement began in connection with construction of the railway Yurga - Kolchugino (modern Leninsk-Kuznetskiy) with a branch Topki - Shcheglovo. In 1918 Shcheglovo was transformed in Shcheglovsk city and Kemerovo village was included into it. From 1943 Kemerovo is a centre of Kemerovo region. |

| History: It was founded in 1604 as Ostrog. In 1603 eushtin prince Toyan appealed to the czar Boris Godunov to make a town on Tom what protection of eushtin Tatars from Mongol raids. The city was built under leadership of Gavriil Pisemskiy. Great Siberian road gave a stimulus to city development. In 1804 it received status of provincial centre. A horse appeared at Tomsk blazon - as a sign of highly developed horse transport. It was the time of gold fever after find of gold deposits. But the reserves proved to be slight. In 1878 University was laid, in 1896 - Techological institute, in 1902 - Teacher's institute. The largest city in Siberia in the XIX century. It lost past fame after construction of Trans-Siberian railway rounf Tomsk. In 1944 Tomsk region was formed.
